MobilityProfile™attributesallowordenyaccesstothenetworkforaspecificuserorgroupof
users.WhenyoucreateaMobilityProfile,youspecifywhichAPports,DistributedAPs,orwired
authenticationportsaretobeincluded.Typically,youincludeportsthataredefinedasAPports
orDistributed
APs.Youcanspecifythatallornoportsareincluded,oryoucanspecifyalistof
portstobeincluded.
WhenyouapplytheMobilityProfile,guestshaveaccessonlythroughspecificareasofyour
WLAN—iftheyroamoutsideofadesignatedareasupportedbyaRoamAboutSwitchor
certain
APs,theynolongerhaveaccesstotheInternet.
AftercreatingaMobilityProfile,assignthatprofiletouserscreatedinthelocalRoamAbout
Switchuserdatabase,ortouserswhoareauthenticatedandauthorizedbyaRADIUSserver.To
assigntheprofiletousersintheRoamAboutSwitchuser
database,addtheMobilityProfilename
whencreatingormodifyingauserorusergroup.ToaddtheprofileonaRADIUSserver,assign
thenameoftheMobilityProfilebyusingtheMobility‐ProfileRADIUSattribute,whichisa
Enterasysvendor‐specificattribute(VSA).
TocreateaMobilityProfile:
1. Select
Configurationonthetoolbar.
2. IntheOrganizerpanel,expandtheRoamAboutSwitch.
3. ExpandAAA,thenselectMobilityProfiles.
4. IntheTaskListpanel,selectMobilityProfile.
TheCreateMobilityProfileswizardappears.
5. IntheProfileNamebox,typethenameoftheMobilityProfile.
Thenamecanbeupto16alphanumeric
characters,anditcannotcontaintabs.
6. InthePortslist,specifyportstoincludeintheMobilityProfile:
• All—IncludeallAPorwiredauthenticationports.Gotostep 10.
• Selected—Includeaselectedlistofports.Gotothestep 7.
• None—Includenoports.Gotostep 10.
7. Selecttheportsto
beincludedintheMobilityProfileandclickAdd.
8. ClickNext.IntheDistributedAPslist,specifytheDistributedAPstoincludeintheMobility
Profile:
• All—IncludeallDistributedAPs.Gotostep 10.
• Selected—IncludeaselectedlistofDistributedAPs.Gotostep 9.
• None—IncludenoDistributedAPs.
Gotostep 10.
9. SelecttheDistributedAPstobeincludedintheMobilityProfileandclickAdd.
10. ClickFinishtosavethechangesandclosethewizard.
Notes: The Mobility Profile Name has to be defined as an authorization attribute in the defined
users or user groups in the local database.
