Wirelessconfigurationfocusesontheconfigurationtasks(radioconfigurationandAAA
configuration)youdotodeliverthevirtualwirelessservicesyouwanttoprovideonyour
network.YouenabletheAPstooperateaccordingtoyourplannedRFcoveragerequirements.
Mostofthewirelessconfigurationisdoneasyouplanyour
RFcoverageandcreateyourradio
profilesandserviceprofiles.
Aradioprofileisusedtoapplycommonsettingstomultipleradios,andeachradioprofilecan
supportupto32serviceprofiles,oneforeachserviceyouwanttosupport.Youspecifyinthe
serviceprofileanSSIDforeach
serviceandthetypeofencryptionmechanismstobeusedbythe
APradios.ThisgivestheradiothepotentialtolooklikeeightdifferentandindependentAPs.See
Figure 2‐3.

Youmustconfigurearadioprofiletosetattributesthatyoucanapplytomultipleradios.Rather
thanconfiguring
eachradioindividually,youcreatearadioprofileandapplyittomultipleradios
thatyouselect.Youcanalsocreatearadioprofileaspartofapolicyandapplyittoaccesspoints
ondifferentRoamAboutswitches.
TheradioprofilecancontainRFAuto‐TuningsettingsandIEEE802.11
settingsthatcontrolhow
thedataisreceivedandtransmitt ed.YoucanselectRFAuto‐Tuningintheradioprofiletoapply
AutoRFsettings(enableordisableautotuningofpowerandchannels)toradiosenmasseviathe
radioprofile.AutoRFenabledthroughtheradioprofiletomultipleradios
canbeeasilydisabled
aswell,shouldyouwanttogotofullRFplanning.YoucansetspecificIEEE802.11settings,such
asbeacon,DTIMintervals,andthefragmentthresholdtocontrolhowpacketsaretransmitted.
Note: A default radio profile named “default” is provided and cannot be deleted.
